God and Sea

Jesus says come unto me all who are heavy laden, and I iwll give you rest.

Our relationship with Jesus is like the sea. When you look at it from the shore, it is a very rosy picture. similarly, when a person looks at people who are saved, they love the peace and joy that is seen in the faces of the believers or born again Christians.

But, when you get closer and stand in the water, you feel the waves are pulling you forward into the sea and at the same time pushing you back. You are scared when you see the huge waves that come and crash on the shore. Also, you feel safe when the smaller waves push you back. Th big waves are like the love of God. It compelles you to move forward, tries to pull you in to soak in His love where the external factors don’t matter. The small waves are the external factors that push you away from God. This is the life of a new believer. Throughout your new Christian walk, you feel like you are being pushed back and forth. You take two steps forward and the smaller waves push you twice the distance backward.

When you surpass this and swim into the sea, you will find that it is calm on the surface, nothing will trouble the surface (I know, I know, I am coming to the dangers). Of course, there are earthquakes, volcanoes, sharks, deadly fishes, and so on inside that peaceful surface. Similarly, when we fall in love with Christ, His love will surround us like the water in the ocean. We will be covered in His love and will operate in His love. The earthquakes, volcanoes, and deadly fishes, just go on to show that choosing Christ does not take away your problems. He helps you to solve them, you will not be ruffled by them. He will give peace though you have problems.

Jesus does not say come to me all who are heavy laden and I will take your problem completely away. He promises us peace, joy, and love. He will help us solve the problems and enable us to grow in Him and in Character.

Where do you stand in this scene? Are you on the shore, in the water, or inside the sea?

Love (Another Version)

Love can never be understood
It comes like the breeze
And leaves like a storm
No one knows why it comes or where it flows
But, when it hits you, you know you’re floored
There is no escape,
It’s like the vast ocean,
It keeps you afloat
You want to reach its core
You don’t want to find the shore
The future seems bright
Passion alights;
Thoughts collide;
Hormones and heartbeat race,
Common sense slows its pace,
Dreams forever prevail…

Love

Love can never be understood
It comes like the breeze
And leaves like a storm
No one knows why it comes or where it flows
But, when it hits you, you know you’re floored
There is no escape,
It’s like a leech,
Sucking the life blood out of you, without any pain
And it causes no bane!!!
Hormones and heartbeat race,
Common sense slows its pace,
Dreams forever prevail

Something I learnt

It has been a long time since I blogged… well now I am back…

I just wanted to let all the people out there know that it is not enough to just love your neighbor as yourself as it says in the bible. You need to do to other as you would have them do to you… Matthew 7:10.

This is important because in life, you are never alone. You always have somebody who is with you… maybe it’s your parents, your friends, your loved ones, your husband, your children, whoever it is you love them. When you love a person you expect a few things from them. I guess it is basically because you give them a lot and therefore, you expect the same from them… but do you treat others, be it your friends or your enemies, with the same respect that you expect from them?? This should be practiced on people you meet on the road or those who are your friends… this should be practiced in all areas of your life.. .

Alternatively, this will always be successful only if you don’t expect anything from anybody. Though you give, you should never expect anything from anybody… be it your family or friends. This is a teaching that I am trying to follow in my life and hoping it would be useful for all of you out there too…

Forgive yourself

Sometimes, as human beings, you find it hard to forgive yourselves, even though God has forgiven you. You wonder how you could have done something as terrible as that! You wonder if God has really forgiven you. You become angry at yourselves and at others. These guilt rides are not from God because it says in the Bible that when you ask for forgiveness, God is faithful and just, to forgive your sins. Also, when He forgives, He throws your sins as far as the east is from the west, and then you become whiter than snow. So, the next time your past haunts you, remember the promises of God. Remember that you don’t want to spend the rest of your life as a pillar of salt (full of bitterness) like Lot’s wife in Genesis 19:26.

Light to Shine in Darkness

Jesus says, you should be like the light, set on top of the hill to shine brightly to those in the darkness. Its something like a lighthouse (sounds crazy huh? you’ll see). The lighthouse is safe on the shore guiding the ship to the shore with its light. You are like the lighthouse. You need to shine the light of Christ from the safe shore tot hose in the darkness (those who don’t know Christ), guiding them to the shore through Christ.

Imagine what will happen if the lighthouse is placed in the middle of the sea??? (Yeah, you are right. It will go down faster than the titanic.) The lighthouse has to be firmly rooted to the ground and needs a power source (electricity) to actually work. Similarly, you need the Bible as your electricity and Christ as yoru firm foundation.

The next time you feel like going or choosing your friends over God thinking that you only trying to bring them to Jesus, or you want to get closer to a guy though you know that he is not saved. I suggest you think again. Going into the darkness or sea will only take you further away from Christ or Shore.

Where do you think it is safe? The sea or the shore? Now think about it… Are you o0n the shore or are you in the sea sinking?

Heaven and Hell

If the devil reminds you of your past,
Just remind him of his future.
But if you have not cleansed yourself of your past,
Be assured of having tea with the devil in HELL!!

You may not get all the comfort you want in this life, but just trust in God, and He’ll settle things. If you are saved, on the day you die you will have experienced your last moment of suffering . If you are lost (NoT sAvEd), on the day you die you will have experienced your last moment of pleasure

He loves you

God is Love and He loves you. It doesn’t matter what you think or say. God loves you and he always will for eternity. You may not understand why and how. you may wonder how can He love us when we’ve done nothing for Him. we’ve not even made any effort to know Him. It doesn’t matter. He chose you from even before you were conceived in your mother’s womb and He even to this very knows the number of hair on your head. He cares so much for and about you. Why are you still fighting against His love for you? All you need to do is give in, surrender. He will take care of it all. he does not promise you a trouble less path. He just promises to carry you through it all. He doesn’t promise you a life like the bed of roses but He promises you peace and happiness that you’ve never experienced. He promises you a life after death with Him. He promises to be your constant companion as long as you don’t push Him away. he promises to be your father, mother, brother, sister, friend, and love. He promises never to hurt you as mortals do. All He wants you to do is to accept him as your Lord an saviour. Just say a prayer asking for forgiveness for all your sins and invite Jesus into your heart. God Bless you.

The End Is Near… Are you ready???

This is a cute poem that I read in one of my forwards. It is so true.

I knelt to pray but not for long,

I had too much to do.

I had to hurry and get to work

For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,

And jumped up off my knees.

My Christian duty was now done

My soul could rest at ease…..

All day long I had no time

To spread a word of cheer

No time to speak of Christ to friends,

They’d laugh at me I’d fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,

That was my constant cry,

No time to give to souls in need

But at last the time, the time to die

I went before the Lord,

I came, I stood with downcast eyes.

For in his hands God held a book;

It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said

‘Your name I cannot find

I once was going to write it down…

But never found the time’

When I read the poem, I realized how many times I have procrastinated what I should have done. I was given so many opportunities to tell my friends or colleagues about Jesus, but I find some excuse or another to put it off to another day. Every day I have an opportunity to set an example to others, but meticulously I put off till tomorrow. How many times have I fought against the thoughts in my head??? Yet, how many times have I failed in my struggle and given in to that Selfish desire to trust in another human being??? How many times have I resisted that urge to gossip but after a lil’ struggle give in to the temptation???

The poem made me realize that there is not much time to tell the world about Jesus. A song by Hillsongs goes like this:

Tell the world that Jesus lives

Tell the world that, tell the world that,

Tell the world that He died for them,

Tell the world that He lives again.

He is coming soon, THE End is drawing near. Soon, we will be singing:

Behold He comes, riding on the clouds

Shining like the sun, at the trumpet call,

Lift your voice; it’s the year of jubilee,

Out of Zion’s hills Salvation comes.

When this happens the Books of Life will be opened. We will have to give an account for all that we did in this life time for the Bible says, “And for your lifeblood (life) I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.” (Genesis 9: 5). All the sins that are forgiven and washed away by the blood of Jesus will not be questioned for it says “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” (Isaiah 1: 18)”

Though my heart rejoices when I think of His coming… I don’t think I am ready to face Him yet… :(

Road not travelled

“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both”

-Robert Frost

There is always more than one choice for any decision that we have to make in our lives. But, there is always only one right way to any situation or decision. If life is like a road—like the metaphor used in The Road Not Taken (the poem mentioned above)— then it is not just about you choosing a road, but it is about choosing the right road. For example, just yesterday I took a day off from office. I was not sick or anything. I just had an exam that day evening and I wanted to prepare for it. So when I called office to tell them that I won’t be coming, I didn’t know what to say. What do you think I should have done??? Told them that I am going to stay at home and study? (Are you crazy???). Of course I didn’t tell them that. I chose to lie. I told them that I was sick and couldn’t make it to office. Now that was not right was it? In this case I chose the wrong road. In this poem there are two types of roads, one that is frequented by most human beings (broad road) and the one that is less travelled (narrow road).

The first road is the broad road with flowering trees on either side. This road is very pleasing to the eye. Let’s see, I could have just said I have an exam and can’t come to office but I didn’t did I? I chose to take the easier way out. I chose the path that is easy to enter, the path of lie. Let us try to find out a little more about this road shall we? On this road ‘everything’ is right. You can go clubbing, drinking, flirting, and smoking. These activities in most ways bring people together. Not only do these activities bring people together they also go hand in hand. You get to know a lot of people when you club, not necessarily good friendship. You also get to interact with a lot people when you smoke or drink. Haven’t you heard of the term ‘drinking buddies’ or ‘smoking buddy’. Are they really good friends? Do they do any good to or for you??? No way!!! The more you want to see them the more you go to pubs… the more you go to pubs the more you drink (obviously!!!). Well that is the broad way. If you take this route all your life you will end up in cancer (that was obvious right??) but more importantly as per the scriptures you will end up in HELL.

The second road is the narrow road, which can be missed by a few people in their excitement at spotting the easy way out of a situation. This is unfortunately the road that I should have taken. This road is not very sociable; some people may just be rude to you because of your righteousness. You may seem a little or a teeny tiny bit more than a little uptight sometimes when saying NO. Sometimes people may just be the other road and they may make fun of you for being truthful. For example, if you have cheated on your exam and even without being caught you confess to your teacher then other students may make fun of you. But confessing is the right thing to do. Certain other times you may feel like you are the only one walking this path and you may just plain right feel lonely, for example, you don’t want to go to the pub your friends are going to. These times you just have to remember that you are on the right side and the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) is right there with you to give you support to move on in the right path. Well we all know where this roads leads to right???? Of course it is HEAVEN.

So if I make one wrong choice does that mean I am branded to go to HELL for life??? Of course not! You have a chance to take the wrong route every time there is a choice in your life. Let’s see, yesterday I started off with a lie about my coming to office late (I told my project manager that I came late because of traffic, whereas I actually woke up late…) but I felt so guilty about it that I confessed and asked forgiveness to Jesus. So from being on the wrong side I moved to the right side. This happens for every single decision that you make. But there is a small rule. You can’t keep repeating the same mistaking over and over again. Well think about it… won’t you get mad if someone does the same mistake over and over again? It’s the same thing with God. You can’t just keep taking him for granted now can you?

So there is something like a bridge between broad and narrow roads. This bridge appears every time you make a choice. So if you are on the narrow road and you make the wrong choice, you go to the broad way and vice versa. It is always best to choose the narrow road than the broad road. May be your very stubborn boss gives you a report today and tells you he wants it yesterday (my my my… isn’t that something we are all familiar with) don’t lie to him about not finishing the report. Tackle the issue, take the bull by its horn let him know that you need more time. May be your friend is inviting you to dinner with someone you don’t’ want to see. Don’t lie to her just tell her you don’t want to come. Be straight forward.

Now think about this. Where are you now and which way do you want to go??
